Will ProWein put Montau on the map as an international exporter?
We certainly hope so. With over 36,000 trade visitors from more than 40 countries and 3,300 international exhibitors this year ProWein broke records. We are living the peak of a global crisis nevertheless trade professionals are optimistic and clearly focused on the future. One could feel a recovered enthusiasm among visitors who, wandering through the long corridors, manifested honest interest in the exhibitor’s offer. It seemed as important as ever to make contacts and keep up-to date with the latest developments of this particular sector that has been facing tough times within the last year.
97% of the trade visitors rated ProWein 2010 as very positive. I can only agree with them; ProWein is an excellent opportunity for an upcoming winery to actively make contacts within all areas and to meet customer quality that is incomparable anywhere else in the world. We encountered a huge variety of trade visitors e.g. from Eastern Europe or Asia that we wouldn’t have been able to approach so easily under normal circumstances.
Have we fully met our goal? In terms of marketing our wines and positioning us on a first-class platform definitely yes – in terms of meeting potential buyers who besides of rating our wines positive, are planning to visit us and to go on discussing further opportunities, as well. We haven’t been able to close a deal directly at the fair however that wasn’t the principal intention. Our goal is to establish confident relation-ships with importers who share our philosophy and guarantee success on the long term not on the short.
Summarizing I can only repeat that we are very enthusiastic about the outcome and that we have great expectations concerning Montau’s export future.
